Position Overview


The Low Voltage Lead Project Technician supports service and large project work across multiple U.S. markets. This is a highly travel-intensive role, with technicians traveling up to 95% of the time, within 4-6 hours of your region. The position is hands-on and field-focused, responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low voltage cabling systems in commercial environments. The role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to work unsupervised, and effective communication while coordinating with teams of 4 to 20 technicians.

Key Responsibilities


  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage cabling infrastructure in commercial buildings
  • Run low voltage cabling, including drilling through concrete walls and performing limited conduit work
  • Ensure all cabling is neatly dressed, tied, and bundled in accordance with safety and quality standards
  • Install cable support systems including J-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct
  • Repair cable poles and towers as required by project scope
  • Test newly installed cabling systems and connected devices to verify proper operation
  • Troubleshoot network and cabling issues and perform corrective work
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, professionalism, appearance, and customer interaction
  • Follow all project safety requirements set by customers, internal standards, and OSHA
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support project completion


Required Qualifications


  • Experience as a Data Cable Technician
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationwide up to 95% of the time
  • Strong working knowledge of BICSI, NEC, and TIA/EIA standards
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and site maps
  • Experience with CCTV, voice, and data cabling preferred
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating with crews of 4 to 20 technicians
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with customers and internal teams
  • Ability to identify independent colors and learn color codes
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces
  • Ability to operate boom lifts and scissor lifts and work at heights of 40+ feet
  • Basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling infrastructure
  • Conduit installation experience is a plus
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI within the last three years
