Fire Suppression Systems Designer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Suppression System Designer to join our growing team. Responsibilities:
- Design wet, dry, pre-action, and clean agent fire suppression systems for complex commercial and mission-critical facilities
- Produce accurate 2D construction drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, including layout plans, isometrics, riser diagrams, and hydraulic calculation documentation
- Ensure all designs comply with NFPA 13, NFPA 12, NFPA 2001, and applicable local codes and standards
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field installers, and other trades to ensure designs are buildable and meet client specifications
- Coordinate with architects and mechanical/electrical teams during design development
- Prepare submittal packages, as-built drawings, and design documentation for AHJ review and approval
- Communicate design intent clearly to clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders
- Stay current on code updates, new suppression technologies, and industry best practices
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fire suppression system design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and 3D modeling (2+ years required)
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 12, NFPA 2001, and related codes
- Experience designing for commercial buildings is necessary.
- Familiarity with hydraulic calculation software (HydraCALC, SprinkCALC, or similar)
- Knowledge of clean agent suppression systems (FM-200, Novec 1230, CO2) and pre-action systems a plus
- NICET certification a plus
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work full-time, Monday–Friday, on-site in Denver, CO
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay Rate: $30–$35/hr
