Tridium Controls Technician
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Tridium Controls Technician to install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain building automation systems (BAS) using the Tridium Niagara framework. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HVAC control systems, network integration, and field commissioning, with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on delivering efficient, reliable building performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and program Tridium Niagara-based BAS controllers and devices.
- Perform system integration with third-party protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.).
- Commission, calibrate, and test sensors, actuators, and control equipment.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work with project teams to ensure proper system design and functionality.
- Maintain accurate documentation including wiring diagrams, point lists, and programming backups.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and maintenance staff.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and facility managers to meet project goals and deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in Building Automation Systems with Tridium Niagara.
- Proficiency with Niagara N4 and/or Niagara AX platforms.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls theory, and electrical fundamentals.
- Experience with common BAS communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using a laptop, programming tools, and diagnostic software.
Preferred:
- Niagara N4 Certification or Niagara AX Certification.
- Familiarity with integration of lighting, energy monitoring, and security systems.
- Experience with IP networking and BAS cybersecurity practices.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related field.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on construction sites and mechanical rooms.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
