Job Description:

We are seeking skilled and motivated Low Voltage Lead Project Technicians to support service and large-scale project work at various locations across the United States. This role involves extensive travel and hands-on fieldwork in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage systems including data, voice, video, and access control.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems and low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling through walls and performing limited conduit work.
  • Ensure cables are properly tied, labeled, and bundled to meet safety and quality standards.
  • Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, racks, and innerduct.
  • Conduct system tests and inspections to verify proper operation and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot network or cabling issues to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Repair and maintain cable poles and towers when required.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain professional communication with clients and supervisors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by project management.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and professionalism on all job sites.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data Cable or Low Voltage Technician.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 95% nationwide.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA).
  • Industry certifications (BICSI, Systimax, Panduit, Belden, Corning) preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site maps, and technical drawings.
  • Experience with CCTV, voice, and data cabling is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead or work within teams of 4 to 20 technicians.
  • Proficiency in identifying and working with color codes.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 40 feet.
  • Experience operating boom or scissor lifts.
  • Possession of basic telecom tools, PPE, and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of conduit installation preferred.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years).
